The Godalming Joint Burial Committee holds the burial records for Nightingale Cemetery (1857 - present day) and Eashing Cemetery (New cemetery) (1900 to present day). Please note: the Godalming Joint Burial Committee does not hold the records for the churchyard at Godalming Parish Church; this churchyard was closed for new graves in 1857 (although there were some burials in existing graves after that date). A copy of the Parish Church burial records (1583-1857 ) is available for viewing at the Godalming Museum library.
The Godalming Joint Burial Committee has a legal duty to maintain burial records for its cemeteries, however, due to space limitations and storage requirements the originals are not readily accessible for general inspection. However the burial rceords from 1857 to December 2013 for Nightingale cemetery and Eashing Cemetery from 1900 to December 2013 are available for viewing in hard copy at Godalming Museum. Alternatively you can download the burial records for Nightingale & Eashing Cemteries from this site.
When viewing the burial records it is important to look at column A. A record that begings with the letter 'N' is a burial at Nightingale Cemetery and a record that begins with the letter 'E' relates to Eashing Cemetery.
